The Cure haben eine neue 6er-Disc-Box veröffentlicht, um den Fans Einsicht in das runde Jubiläum im Jahr 2018 zu gewähren. Nachdem die Band im vergangenen Jahr 40 Jahre vollgemacht hat, waren die Rufe nach Material, 4 Jahrzehnte nach Bandgründung immer lauter geworden. Und das bekommen die Fans jetzt ausführlich nachgeliefert. Das Box-Set besteht aus kompletten Audio- und Videomitschnitten des „Anniversary“-Konzernfilms, als auch unbekannten Videos des „Meltdown“-Festival-Sets.

„40 Live: Curaetion-25 + Anniversary“ gibt es in drei Formaten. Ein Set mit zwei Blu-rays und vier CDs, ein Set mit zwei DVDs und vier CDs und eines mit nur zwei DVDs.

Unterdessen bestätigte Frontmann Robert Smith, dass ein neues Album von The Cure voraussichtlich an Halloween erscheinen soll, und noch zwei weitere Alben in Vorbereitung sind.
